Ya' know, there is an easy way to solve these problems. The SEC needs to make splitting stocks illegal in the Big Caps market, whether forward or backward. All shares that a company owns should be open to the public. Adding shares when these companies feel like it enables the manipulation and corruption. These company owners will think twice before they spend big bucks on a "shell company"! I also think that only companies with positive ratings from the Better Business Bureau should be allowed to compete in "Penny Land".
