Does mike realize that there were at least two San Miguel ships lost in the same time frame? One was salvaged and one wasn't. Of course only my opinion Billy! Wait not only my opinion it's written in books!! The 1542 wreck was LOST! Not salvage not found.

(1542 )Nao San Miguel lost near Cape Cabron about 15 leagues from Puerto Plata Carrying a large amount of gold and silver.

(1541) Galleon San Miguel 200 tons carrying a very valuable cargo of gold and silver and bullion lost her mainmast and rudder and drifted until wrecking on a reef between Cape Frances and Cape Cabron about 30 leagues from Puerto de Plata All her people were saved and divers recovered all her treasure.
