Would you feel better if the quarter report included some statement like, "DNA management has contacted, and continues to contact, every source of new funding that they can conceive. To date, none of these contacts have uncovered any new sources of funding to revive the corporation."

They are spending $22,000 of their own money each month to keep things alive.

I believe that would suggest that they have 22,000 reasons each month to do EVERYTHING possible to identify and procure new funding to revive the business.

You have to realize that most of the time, the answer for a request for funding is "No!" when there are no pre-existing revenues or assets available which could be used to allow the funding party to recover their investment.
