While it is artificial, I have a hard time mustering sympathy for those shorting KBIO after the Shrekli news was out there.
But it being artificial is the point. Also when Shrekli pulls this stunt with the next microcrap biotech, what will be the reaction of the OTC dreamers? The Shrekli has rescued us! I predict others will join the "our savior" list in microcrap ville.
As for sympathy for those wanting to Short a microcrap stock - napalm is dangerous. Probably our boy who cried on FB had a 100% track record, Short a piece of microcrap, and collect a few coins. Then he ran into that unlimited risk part via The Shrekli name, and the creation of a low float manipulating the PPS.
The only justice would be for Shrekli to get more greedy, and even start to believe his own propaganda about KBIO's potential (i.e. it has none). Where he can never sell a share, and bleed out with the company. Where he can join the Shorts he fried in the loss column. Then again, the probability Shrekli and associates never dump a share is nil. Shrekli has a good scam methodology going.
