Home prices in 20 major U.S. metropolitan areas rose 0.2% in September on a non-seasonally adjusted basis, below expectations for a 0.4% increase, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index.

From the same period the year prior, prices jumped 5.5%, topping expectations for a 5.1% rise.
