A customer should always be treated as a shareholder and a shareholder should always be treated as a customer.
Often one ends up being both. That's why it's a Cardinal sin to threaten a shareholder of a public company.

Two parties don't need to like each other to do business, but if both parties decide their going to do good business, then both parties end up liking each other.
