I am excited about seeing the SPOTLIGHT movie...I followed the excellent reporting in the GLOBE from when it first broke, and I'm sure I'll recognize what they discuss in this movie.
With that said, aside from the CC abuse reporting by the GLOBE and a recent great article in the GLOBE regarding concurrent surgeries at MassGen, and to be fair in-depth columns in the Wash Post (I'm thinking here of Dana Priest's series exposing deplorable conditions in the VA, published before 2008), most newspapers can't afford to donate the time/$$$ it takes for reporters to dig deep into one issue. And truth be told, most newspapers don't hire talented reporters capable of digging to get the details of a problem.
