How bout giving this subject a break..You are putting yourself and your ideas above what the professionals think. Unless you can come up with something that is going to lower the placebo group risk, and not effect the active arm it is not going to change the long term effect.

Factors which effect both arms and lower CVD risk are only going to change the interim and final dates. This is not going to be very much and will have almost no effect on things in the long run..
