It could be that BORK "lost" its chance by going for body armor plates instead of vehicle armor siding first. The siding would have been easier to manufacture and release in a timely fashion and could easily be custom fitted to any manufacturer. All those amazing videos of kryluminum bullet/blast proofing were/still-are amazing.
But that is water under the bridge now.
