AVT Creates Doritos Rainbow Machine for Dallas Pride Event
The unique custom designed vending system dispensed limited-edition rainbow-colored chips to raise money, awareness and support
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (OTC Markets: AVTC) (www.autoretail.com), a leading manufacturer of automated retailing systems, self-service kiosks, and custom vending machines, announced today that the company has designed and built a special machine that dispenses new Rainbow Doritos in a "Donating Machine" that doesn't sell products, but instead allows attendees to donate a minimum of $10 to the It Gets Better Project, in exchange for a bag of the limited edition chips.
According to Frito-Lay, all 10,000 bags of rainbow Doritos have been sold and no more will be produced this year. The promotion netted $100,000 for the It Gets Better Project, which will receive 100% of the receipts.
The machine was located in Dallas Pride, a long-running and popular event that now attracts major corporate sponsors from companies including T-Mobile, Coors, Miller Beer, Red Bull, and Toyota.
According to Goodby Silverstein & Partners, the advertising agency that came up with the initial idea and worked closely with the Doritos brand to make Doritos Rainbows a reality, thousands of bags were snatched up in less than 24 hours.
AVT has worked with Doritos parent company PepsiCo on several projects in the recent past, and the experience has always been mutually successful.
