But it is a "build it up" business going on here. This is untried in the comic world, to have ongoing free comics. Advertisers have been aware of this idea for years. I have been waiting to get back in because of the lack of definition here. In the most recent video it sounded to me as if filling the ads WAS and still IS the concern. Hence the cutback to 500k for the first year. And, I will point out that Benny had the same tone last year in July when he said, "We have nearly half of the ad space filled and am confident that we will have no problem filling the rest. If necessary, I will clear my calendar to assist Kris in filling the remaining space." That was well over 12 months ago, and that was with the commitment of 1M/wk.

I don't see them filling ad space indefinitely. They are trying to tap a drying well, and at 35 CPM? It seems pretty dreamy to me. I think most advertisers on the fence will wait it out to see if it lasts. And I think if GSL does last, it will be because of increased distribution. IMO, TRU won't continue free comics all year. I don't think a couple free ad pages will seal the deal for long-term distribution. I also think that the cut to 500k has to do with "life after TRU". For REDG to be able to continue 500k guaranteed distribution, they will most likely have to increase awareness at comic shops. All of this points to a rough launch IMO, and the unlikelihood of seeing 1 million a week at any point in the near future.

With that being said, I hope to be proven wrong, and to have a chance to get back in, should the outlook get brighter.
