Loyal: I can answer that question about having to do the open house to get property back. Many many years ago, I did some repo work for the family business (taking back large circus tents not paid for).

On big ticket items, it was common practice to let the person use the equipment 1 last time before getting the property back. The reason, was you could see it set up prior to taking it back. VS having to get the pieces in a storage shed or worse just getting part of it back. And it reduces the chances of the deadbeat from doing damage to the property out of spite.

Also, formal repo procedures take more time. So, if I was Doug and if Molen was going to bring it to me and set it up, YES I would make that deal.

come to think of it, Molen and carnival workers are pretty much the same.
