Gungrey: I am sure that IDCC has valid and enforceable patents among all those that have been granted; however, I have no idea as to how and why they choose the patents when filing an infringement action.

In regard to rating their 4G/LTE portfolio, I, personally, have no idea as to how it should be rated against other portfolios. for you information in a 2012 report, one company rated IDCC as being being fourth in the number of 4g/lte patents with 336 patents, and seventh in the number of seminal (primary) patents with 23.

In an updated analysis report last year, in their press release summarizing the new report, IDCC was no longer mentioned; however, in another summary pie chart they show that IDCC dropped to eighth place in the number of patents.
