Let's do the math for shorting.
If I want to short 50,000 shares, that's $600 worth currently.
I need to put $2 a share, $100,000 in my margin account. (some are $2.50 / share)
The most I can make, if IDNG goes to $0, is $600.

Meanwhile, I would have $100,000 tied up waiting for that to happen ... not a wise use of funds
Putting $100,000 in a 1% bank account will get you $1000.
