OBAMA ADMINISTRATION: President Barack Obama attends meetings at the White House. Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Education Secretary Arne Duncan visit Goucher College's Prison Education Partnership at the Maryland Correctional Institution to make an announcement about federal student aid at 10 a.m. U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman and U.S. trade negotiators are in Maui, Hawaii, for Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations.
ELECTION 2016: Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and Martin O'Malley, and Republican candidates Jeb Bush and Ben Carson will speak at the National Urban League conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Mrs. Clinton will later call on Congress to lift the trade embargo against Cuba in a speech at Florida International University. Friday is also the Federal Election Commission filing deadline for super PACs. Super PACs are required to file lists of their donors and expenditures covering the first half of the year by midnight
ECONOMIC INDICATORS: The Labor Department releases the second-quarter employment cost index at 8:30 a.m.
