You could be correct - there are no certainties when it comes to criminal prosecution.
However Jakeflies provided a comprehensive list of companies who collectively have many millions of shareholders, many corporate boards, executive teams and institutional investors - all of whom likely have a beef with the folks behind pumpstopper and the hedge funds / short sellers, traders who work / collude.
I speculate that when the identities are revealed - you could expect a stampede of people looking for more information, multiple lawsuits, endless motions for discovery and ample litigation as well as calls for regulatory investigations. Keep in mind - not only did shareholders get their pockets picked but companies got sued, legal fees, executives resigned ..these are not some inconsequential bullshit occurrence. .these are train wrecks for many people.... a lot of damage her.
Pure speculation on my part but at some point it becomes a numbers game and I would not like those odds if I were on the other side. If we've documented illegality and false statements there's a high probability others have as well. - hiding behind some bullshit caveat that the "statements should not be misconstued as facts and are only opinions' is an unsophisticated attempt to print own's own get out a jail card ahead of time which can be pulled out later to extract themselves from any legal exposure. I'm no lawyer but one does not need to be Perry Mason to know this statement is largely inconsequential in the real world.
