I don't recall there being anything of the sort mentioned specifically by hysr. I have come across articles in the past that where exploring different feed stocks for the processing into other chemicals. It would stand to reason that various sources of water which may be contaminated with something that could yield a positive product from this process should be pursued. Also, one of blekko's links was to a video presentation where McFarland was discussing the technology and how it maybe the only truthfully economically viable renewable energy technology without subsidies, mind you this is a couple of years old. The way to make it so is to not only produce hydrogen but also value added byproducts that could be sold to industry. Hydrogen has its use but selling oxygen is a little less of an interest, what if you could use this oxygen for another chemical process? What if you want to not make pure hydrogen but use it in yet another chemical process? There could be more value in this. I gtg. I have old posts I can't reference now , so does blekko.
