These people aren't on the front line but think they should not only earn more but get a better raise and try to justify it by saying other states with FOOLS in charge are doing the same thing wrong so that makes their wrong right!

When the fire gets close to their house ........ hmmmmmmmmm

Wash. firefighters blast pay raises given to managers

When it comes to fighting fires, the people on the front lines take all the risk.

But the state's largest union representing wild land firefighters says all the rewards are going to managers.

"It's very sad. The inequitable treatment is disappointing," said Washington Public Employees Association President Kent Stanford.

Newly released documents show that more than a dozen management and executive level employees at the Washington Department of Natural Resources have received double-digit pay increases in less than two years.

The information came to light as DNR Commissioner Peter Goldmark complained bitterly about legislative funding falling millions of dollars short during two record setting fire seasons.

Records obtained by WPEA show an economist got a 14% pay hike, a business manager received an additional 11% pay and dispatch manager got a 10% boost.

The biggest pay hikes went to Matthew Randazzo, who is described as a senior advisor to Goldmark. He received a 10% hike in 2013 and then a 12% hike a few months later, with his salary topping out at $105,000.

"It is very, very disappointing to see one individual get a double digit raise in a couple of years and he hard working men and women that put their lives on the line get a single digit raise that everyone else in the state got," Stanford said.

WPEA firefighters are getting a 3% raise this year. Stanford says they are among the lowest paid state firefighters in the country.

A DNR spokewoman said the management raises are in line with those at other state agencies. She said Rendazzo was hired at an entry level salary and quickly assumed additional responsibilities.
