The NCPA (National Community Pharmacists Association) breaks revenue down between prescription sales per square foot and "other" sales per square foot. Pharmacies typically generate over $3,000 to $4,000 in sales per square foot for prescriptions but less than $100 per square foot in "other". In 2008 the average revenue for a independently operated, pharmacist owned location was over $1,100/SqFt. Behind these numbers, the average prescription cost was $63 and an average of 22 prescriptions were dispensed per hour.
Maybe in future releases CAFS will break down revenue streams similarly.
