I understand your point. We are talking about 2 different concepts.

Those 1000 shares at $1 are worth $1000.

Those 1000 shares at .50 are worth $500.

The decrease in value from scenario A to scenario B is the same regardless of what price the shares were acquired at.

My point was that anyone who is a shareholder (including insiders) would logically prefer scenario A.
