Now BC , Us Kiwi's aren't the smartest birds in the bush ...after all we gave up using our wings to fly centuries ago .

So I'll just repost one of Gabors earlier post...having read yours and JL's I'm at a similar conclusion as Gabor ie " Its all about the Statin dose "

JL-

YES, yes, yes, YES

I am talking about statin effect on EPA (statin inhibits EPA effect). The effect is nill in the placebo group.

The statin effect is is on the Delta5 Desaturase enzyme which controls the conversion of ALA into Archadonic Acid. (agree w u) This is independent of EPA levels so the effect is the same in both arms.

Actually EPA tends to slow the conversion of ALA into AA (agree), however R-IT has higher statin dose (more effect) than in JELIS, so EPA has to slow MORE conversation in R-IT than in JELIS.

Oh by the way . Is that another variable ...The Statin dose effect on AA levels is different in RI bs JELIS because of the higher Statin dose in RI.

Boy it would be a heck of a lot easier if we could just turn all Americans into Japanese by giving them 4 gms of Vascepa each day...:>)
