Thanks davidsson: I presume you're the energetic author of that SA article, no doubt the most thorough piece ever to be written on IMMA.

Why did IMMA suddenly become dormant? Probably to reduce the considerable chance that its trading will be suspended by the SEC to protect the public. The invasive telemarketing used to hawk the stock -- rarely seen in these days of "Do Not Call Lists" -- no doubt set off alarms at the SEC and elsewhere. A trading halt would prevent insiders from dumping additional shares.
