my take on last nights show...
..
round 1-
rayvon- super yuck, high, mousy, i hated it and the judges loved it. go figure.
clark- pitchy start, and just awful all the way through!
nick- it was ok but i just dont like his singing voice. great "stage" performance though.
jax- a little weak at the start but then she rocked it! she has to be careful about running around and stuff, cause she was out of breath from all that, while trying to sing. she revved the band up though, they seemed to have fun.
then they did their home coming, which is always fun to see and gets me teary-eyed.
round 2-
nick- off key, not good.
clark- way better than his first song. loved his loud/strong parts of the song. even got the "gooseys". clark is back (for now). oh, and the background video (for dock of the bay) was beautiful. looked like he was really there. so, keith said clark is always too "perfect" and needs to humanize it? huh? so, the audience boo'd him as it should be.
rayvon- poor kid, when they went back to his home in richmond (just south of where i live) their "area" rug inside, was the green outdoor grassy carpet. and its one tiny house, so, he came from very humble beginnings. good kid for sure. anyway, his voice was great and silky on this song. later, j-lo said the same word "silky". it was nice, he stayed on key and didnt "over eat" the mike this time.
jax- pitchy and way too "breathy" and whiny. sorry, just my opinion and was boring.
round 3- "judge's pick"-
clark- so, they make this Christian boy, who is super big into the church, sing some song from the "50 shades of grey" movie. that was just odd for me, but he did well. didnt like all the high notes, but thats what the "boys" do these days. no "men" singing voices left in the idol contests anymore.
rayvon- he did "you are so beautiful"... he started it out in some sort of minor keys that made it a bit haunting, but in a great way, loved that part. then he modulated (took it up a key) and did great! and the song has a super high note at the end, yet, he chose NOT to go there? thats what he does, is glaring high notes, haha.

jax- wow, the poor girl had to learn a ton of words and get them out fast! i didnt like the song at all though.
nick- hated it. but these kids had to learn a lot of songs in just one week, and do the home coming, so, i cant imagine how tough it is for them.
WHAT????? SO THEY VOTE ONE OFF AT THE END OF THE SHOW? THEN WHY BOTHER DOING ALL THAT SINGING??? so i guess they vote next week on this weeks after they perform. really dumb how they are doing it this year. vote them off first, and then dont put them through all that mess.
