The argument is the same one used with firearms. Firearms do not kill; killers do but that doesn't not mean that the firearm is faulty.

Sure thing only ELTP's ADT line of opioids won't allow addicts or would be addicts to crush and inject Elite's opioids to get high. The FDA had no business allowing Opana ER on the market in the first place. Indiana wouldn't be experiencing an upsurge in HIV infections if the FDA had taken prescription opioid abuse more seriously.

Take away highly abusable opioids and replace them with opioids that are safer and society will see less opioid abuse plain and simple. Of course, addicts will move on to heroin but the larger piece- less people become addicted to heroin in the first place with Elites ADT Opioids. It's why you approve ADT opioids, crack down on pill mills and monitor individuals who are doctor shopping through national data computer systems. There isn't a silver bullet and there never will be. Society needs multiple approaches to curb what the FDA turned a blind eye to.

And in terms of comparing addicts to people who kill others with guns. I supposed we should allow anyone who is 18 and has a valid form of ID to be able to buy assault rifles in gas stations. Buy two six packs of beer and a pack of any chewing gum and get a free silencer with another hand gun purchase as well.

I've always loved the argument that it's not guns that kill people. It's like saying highly addictive opioids don't kill people. If this were true why are so many people dying because of highly addictive opioids that were not prior to OxyContin being marketed? Answer: they weren't.

It's why the FDA will approve Elite's ADT opioids. It helps them look like they are actually doing something to clean up the mess they helped make in the first place. The FDA is a joke but Elite has to obviously deal with a group of clowns until it gets it's ADT through their hoops. Sounds familiar.
