I have tried all of the settings on my surround sound; to hear the most of the singer I have to turn the surround off; and I have a very nice center channel on my system.

To be fair, I think some of singers are hiding their weakness in the loudness of the band. Even the judges have commented on the voice getting lost in the band; again, I say turn up the mic.
