Watching paint dry or grass grow

I remember years ago (1980s or 1990s) that one of my friends describe a case 'going through the system' was like watching grass grow or paint dry.

One of the things he told to me was:
Question: Do you know what eternity is?
Answer: Two lawyers waiting for each other.

It does explain why more and more people and companies enter into contracts that specify 'binding arbitration'. Even if you lose, at least it is over quickly and you do not spend a fortune or years of time, to do it.
