I know what you mean about helping rather than misdirecting. Funny thing is, I've went as far as giving out my personal email address to help some guys on here...i spent A LOT of time, trying to help and you wouldn't believe me but one person in particular lost $30k cause he was too stubborn and thought he knew what he was doing. In fact, he held this stock and it actually came back to the pps he bought in OVER 1 yr after we first talked. I saw the chart and email him asking if you held this whole time and if so consider bailing....well guess what he said he would sell soon. Well timmmmberrrrr came and he bag held again. I absolutely couldn't believe it, esp after i spend AGES helping him on this 1 yr prior to this. BTW, it was on VRNG. I felt bad for him, even though it was very stupid he held FOR A 2nd time!

I understand what you are saying about newbs but I come from a benevolent background and my main purpose in life has been to help and never misdirect. Helping others has bitten me badly at times, but in the end I will always feel good about the person I have been so I tend to take issue with those that might think it is funny to simply blurt out things that others might take seriously and in turn might harm them. That is just my point of view.

As for what I do...I trade and invest and will use Ford as my example. I am invested in Ford and enjoy the dividends, but when the price goes down to at least the low to mid $14 levels, I will put new money in and sell that stake when it gets to between $16 and $17, which yields me between 10% to 15% and did so in two weeks time the last two times I did this. I am perfectly fine with that type of return and within that timeline and I look for similar plays like that as well. Even AAP* gave me a couple of two-week returns of the same range. Not always that lucky, but those are two solid stocks that I can count on for things like that when they drop to certain levels.
