Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton hosts Peace Games’ 2nd annual School House Rocks benefit in Boston. The bassist, a longtime supporter of Peace Games, a youth charity that promotes anti-violence, performs and donates a package of Aerosmith memorabilia for a silent auction held at the event. 2005

An expanded edition of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Street Survivors," commemorating the 30th anniversary of the '77 album's release (a tad late), is available. The two-CD collection includes the final live tracks recorded before the plane crash that killed three band members. There's also a previously un-issued Tom Dowd-produced version that Skynyrd rejected in favor of a self-produced effort they recorded later. 2008

Louis Vuitton announces that Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is the new public face of French luxury handbag and luggage fashion house. "Some journeys cannot be put into words. New York. 3 am. Blues in C," reads the copy that accompanies a photo of Richards shot by Annie Leibovitz. Richards donates his modeling fee to Al Gore’s Climate Project. 2008

Instamatic Karma: Photographs of John Lennon is in bookstores. The volume is published by Lennon’s "lost weekend" lover, May Pang. "For years, only my closest friends got to see these photos -- which were literally tucked away in a shoebox in my closet," writes Pang in the book. Lennon’s “lost weekend” was a period in the ‘70s when the ex-Beatle and Yoko Ono had split. They later reconciled. 2008

Rockabye Baby!, a company that produces mellow instrumental versions of popular Rock songs geared toward infants, releases an album of reworked AC/DC tunes. “Rockabye Baby!: Lullaby Renditions of AC/DC “ features versions of "Highway To Hell" and "Back In Black." Is nothing sacred? 2008

"We can tackle the tough challenges we face and build community through service and volunteering," says Bon Jovi in the video, which is shown at concert venues throughout the United States. 2010

Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien writes an open letter to BBC Director General Mark Thompson in an effort to save BBC 6 which is focused on independent music. The BBC is looking at eliminating several of its stations in a bid to cut spending within the corporation. 2010

Kings Of Leon perform "The Immortals" in a video which is shown in movie theaters (and later on TV) to promote the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship on Turner Sports and CBS. "We are proud to be working with Kings Of Leon throughout the tournament and using their powerful song "The Immortals" as a theme of our marketing campaign and coverage," says Turner exec Christina Miller in a statement. 2011

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Roger Waters (ex-Pink Floyd) encourages fellow musicians to avoid playing shows in Israel. "I'm against Israel for exactly the same reasons that I was against South Africa: it's a two-tiered racist system," Waters says. 2011

Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver) launches Meridian Rock, a money management company for Rock stars. The bassist, who took courses and schooled himself in money matters, has also written financial columns for the Seattle Weekly and Playboy.com. 2011

Detroit members of the NAACP protest the organization's plans to give their Great Expectations Award to Kid Rock. They claim Rock’s use of the Confederate flag in his shows does not fit with the organization's mission. "It's a slap in the face for anyone who fought for civil rights in this country,” says Adolph Mongo, head of Detroiters for Progress. "It's a symbol of hate and bigotry." 2011

Courtney Love settles a lawsuit filed her by clothing designer Dawn Simorangkir. The Hole frontwoman agrees to pay $430,000 to the designer for a series of attacks via Twitter. 2011

The Black Keys are inducted into the Firestone High School's Hall of Fame. Drummer Pat Carney and singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach are both graduates of the Ohio school. "I haven't been in here in 12 years," remarks Carney, who graduated in ’98. A CBS television crew, working on a Black Keys documentary, is on hand to film the event. 2012
