No, it could not. This is a hard rock mine. You can't do anything secretly. Plus it is not a private claim. It is public land owned by the US government. Last time they tried to get control for future operations a Federal Judge ruled the mine was worthless.

The realities of mining, geology and metallurgy are light-years from what you assume in your scenario. This is a reoccurring problem from newbies - they just assume gold or silver automatically equals quick and easy riches. Nothing could be further from the truth.
