Like you said earlier maybe the NFL thinks any kind of publicity is good?
And they will AFTER the SB come out and say there was justification to look into this matter ......... there is the NFL's CYA part ............. but we haven't found enough evidence to convict.

Everyone goes away happy when they have record TV viewership due to this story. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
