I guess you failed to notice that the date of the article is February 2003!

I wonder how they continued to mine and ship sand by barge at the rate of over 1,000,000 Tonnes per year all the way through 2008?? And would start up again tomorrow if Hanson (owned by Heidelberg) needed more sand in San Diego.

As usual, in Mexico, or the US or Spain or Brazil or.....the environmentalists make noise, the politicians make statements (which are usually taken out of context)and then NOTHING HAPPENS.

"Money talks and BS walks" the same here here as in Ohio.

There are still several small guys going broke trucking sand over the border every day to San Diego.

Actually, in this particular case, you actually tried to do some honest DD here. It's just too bad that you

1) believe everything you read in the newspapers
2) didn't bother to update your information since 2003

And therefore, you are WRONG AGAIN!!
Although you seem to be weakening a bit...which is a good thing!
