Robert Segersten already knew the U.S. market posed a substantial challenge given that it's bigger competitors have an oligopolistic advantage and the financial resources to make "Blackfoot deals" with crooked politicians. Going global has its risks, but it was a risk worth taking; else, filing for bankruptcy.
