That is the way I like to see judges release their decisions when one of the parties is publically traded. With VHC vs Cisco or Apple case, when VHC lost, the court released the decision in the middle of a weekday, causing all kinds of chaos and some traders got an advantage since the didn't know why the stock was moving so fast. VHC was halted a few minutes too late to prevent some people from having a most unfair advantage.
Doing the release on a Friday after 6pm gives everyone a chance to see what it means (no repeat of the misunderstanding with the WDDD MJS release where the stock fell to $0.05 for a few minutes until everyone understood what the decision really meant) and talk about it.
