Seahawks fan who gave tickets to grieving family gets own surprise
Seth Landau shares his Seahawks playoff tickets with Rhonda Johns

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. -- Inside a small security system company on Mercer Island, sits a man with rock star hair and a framed photo of Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. Seth Landau deals with burglar alarms, but it was a fellow 12th Man's generous gesture that stole his heart.

Rhonda Johns is a long-time Seahawks season ticket holder in Edmonds who was saddened to hear about some brothers from her city whose father died Christmas Eve. The father, Cory Rice, was a huge Hawks fan too.

Johns knew she might disappoint her own son but donated her playoff seats to Saturday's Seahawks game to the grieving brothers she'd never met.

Her sacrifice didn't go unnoticed. Praise poured in from fellow 12s. And that's where the business owner with the wild mane and big heart comes in.

"I wept," said Landau who calls himself a crazy fan. He was so moved by Johns' selfless gesture that he decided one good Seahawks deed deserved another.

"Rhonda needed the seats, there was just no question about it, had two extras, it just made sense," said Landau. Landau called Johns and asked her what she was doing Saturday night. She told him she was watching the Seahawks on TV from home.

"No you're not," said Landau.

The season ticket holder asked Rhonda and her 18-year-old son Riley to come to his office where he handed them playoff tickets on the 48 yard line, 20 rows up.

One Hawk lover's kindness was contagious and gave the loudest fans another reason to cheer.

Welling up, Landau said, "When I'm at the game, I'm gonna yell to Rhonda and she's gonna yell to me and it's gonna be awesome."
