That's a rationalization! It has been discussed in details on this board that both ABBV and ESRX had incentives to do this type of deal where wider access accompanied by lower price.

As I had pointed out before, the rational price for ABBV is less or equal to Harvoni 8-week regimen - excluding Harvoni 8-week regimen from formulary strongly supports this type of price discount agreement. Is that giving away the store or considered stupid to capitulate? I certainly don't think so! It's in ABBV's own interest.
