While you should always use limit orders with options (the only exception -- a disastrous trade where you have to get the hell out NOW) a big bid/ask spread has consequences. Sure, you can certainly do better than the 40 to 50 cent spread you typically see on the screen, but it's still the case that if you buy an NNVC option and then immediately sell it you will lose 20 to 30 cents. More liquid option chains give you real life spreads of 2 - 10 cents.
