I grew up until I was 12 years old pretty much living off the grid! No tv, no indoor plumbing, and one small oil heater in the living room for the whole house. I like the grid, and appreciate all the modern comforts! JMO but good luck to you. You may actually love it!!

Modern Technology fixed it. No honey buckets!
No need for the grid anymore. Well/septic will supply the same thing. Insulation keeps you warm/cool, TV satellite.
