Ah Cassandra...nice. What you say is right on the nose! But fear and risk is all part of life's experiences worth having to help recognize the value of living without them...

The IRS is NOT a god. In fact, their sole role is to ensure that you pay the amount of taxes you are legally responsible for. Period. Written rules provide the groundwork for applying pain if you try to gain by NOT paying your taxes.

Now if 2+2=4 and 4 is what is due by the IRS rules and you decide to calculate that debt by using 3+1=4, well, they will "possibly" forgive and quite frankly ignore that infraction.

The chances are very good that taking such liberties with the "intent" of paying the taxes that are due...with consideration of 'grey matter', is a crime worth committing when your time and ability to completely know the rules like you do are all too consuming. Making the best use of my time according to my value of it is worth the risk.

Anyone thinking that 'advice' provided on these boards is inherently worth taking without thought is making a grave decision. Make sure YOUR thought makes YOUR decision.
