Popular sports blogging platform makes meteoric rise to top of comScore rankings.
SportsBlog Media Group (“SportsBlog”) announced today that it ranks as one of the top 25 sports destinations on the web. Comprised entirely of new, original content, SportsBlog has seen a meteoric rise in comScore, first debuting in April 2014 as the 50th largest sports destination and climbing to #24 in May 2014 for sports cross-platform rankings.
Even more impressive, SportsBlog dominates in the reach of the most sought-after key demographic, ranking number one in terms of audience composition for users age 18-34 among the top 25 sports publishers.
The popular sports blogging platform owes its coveted spot in the comScore rankings to both a growing base of dedicated sports bloggers and a series of powerful partnerships with high-traffic sports sites and major players’ associations.
“We’re proud to be ranked in the top 25, and our bloggers should be too,” said SportsBlog CEO Roy Dano. “With more bloggers joining our team each day, and more major sports sites coming aboard, we are undoubtedly the fastest growing sports blogging platform in the world.”
Launched less than two years ago, SportsBlog is experiencing record-level traffic on both desktop computers and mobile devices. In May, SportsBlog had more than 8 million unique visitors and 20 million monthly page views.
SportsBlog currently hosts more than 20,000 regularly updated blogs by fans, sports journalists and professional athletes.
In April, SportsBlog added to its rapid growth through several strategic partnerships with popular fan sites including LakersNation.com and WarriorsWorld.net, as well as the trendy sports gossip site TerezOwens.com.
SportsBlog also recently secured agreements to become the exclusive blogging platform for multiple pro sports players’ associations, including NFL Player Engagement (NFLPE), the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) and the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNPBA).
April was the first month SportsBlog was ranked by the American internet analytics company comScore.
