Speculation floating around of a possible Viacom buyout of Lions Gate after announcing a $1 billion offering.

Viacom acquired Paramount for around $10 billion 20 years ago. Possibly looking for another movie studio.

LGF currently has the highest institutional ownership I've seen for a entertainment producer:

44% higher than Disney even. Big money betting on something here.

If China wants a piece of the action, they gotta buy it from one of these guys at a premium. Seems like they are holding on tightly though if the recent fizzling out of the recent Alibaba rumor to acquire MHR Fund Management's 37.4% stake is any indication.
