Solar 3D Cell Update! Sort of

I emailed Solar3D a couple days ago pretending that I just ran across their site while doing a random internet search for some solar panels. I explained this in the email and said that I was emailing them because I would like to purchase one of their 3D panels but that I did not see any for sale on their site. To my surprise, the CEO, Jim Nelson is the one who replied to my email. Here is his response:

"Hi *****,

we are still in development."

And that was all I got. So, unsatisfied with his short response and still undeterred in my desire for an update on the 3D cell, I emailed him again. This is the email that I sent the second time:

"Ok, thanks, Do you think that it will be available soon(within 1 year)? As I would like to get some solar panels installed within that time frame. Also, I see that you are based out of California, I am in Missouri, would I be able to get those installed in Missouri when they become available or do you only install locally? Thanks, *****"

He never responded to my second email. My first email he responded to within 10 minutes! I then replied to his reply within only 5 minutes thinking that a quick reply on my part would get me another quick reply from him back in return. Well I was wrong. That was two days ago. You would think that if they were fairly close to having the 3D cell available commercially, that he would at least have given me some sort of time frame. But nothing. So that doesn't exactly give me a lot of faith that this 3D cell is going to be coming out anytime soon. If it was, I don't think that there would have been any harm in saying so to what might be a potential future customer. Jim said in mid-summer of 2014 that we should have a manufacturer for the 3D cell by the end of the 4th quarter 2014. If that was actually going to happen within that time frame, that would mean we are less than a month away from that information being released. However, when you look at the short and uninformative response that I was given by him only two days ago regarding the 3D cell, it certainly doesn't look like we are going to have a manufacturer for the 3D cell this year. If that is indeed the case, the price per share of this stock will most likely take a hit come the first of the year. Investors don't like empty promises and they don't like delays and they don't like CEO's that don't talk. And if there are delays, they at least would like some sort of explanation as to why. Look at Telsa(TSLA), they are always running behind of Elon Musks projections, yet despite this, the pps of TSLA stays high. The reason why is because Elon Musk gives explanations for the delays to the shareholders that are perceived by the investors of TSLA as reasonable and just part of the growing pains of the company. We need Jim Nelson to step up to the plate and give us some sort of explanation as to when the panel is coming out and if it's going to be delayed, then tell us why. Don't just leave us in the dark. If and when the 3D cell becomes commercially available, I think that any sane person would agree that it would give Solar3D a huge leg up against the competition and huge profitability. When that happens, the pps of solar 3D will be WELL OVER $1.00 per share. However, if there is no 3D cell, ever, then this is nothing more than another solar company(with tons of debt) trying to make it (by borrowing money and acquiring companies with other peoples money) in a very competitive marketplace with nothing that gives them any kind of advantage. So, it's either going to go one way or another. Until the solar 3D cell comes out, the pps of this company will remain low and most likely get lower as the debt continues to grow from 10-Q to 10-Q. I also thought it was kinda sleazy to file an S-3 THE VERY MOMENT that the market cap legally allowed them to. So I would also like an update as to why the S-3 was filed and what they intend to do with the money. If this was Tesla, we would know exactly where we stand right now because Elon Musk would tell us like he always does. But this isn't TSLA and Jim's not talking, so maybe that does tell us where we stand. Just my .02.
