Now "that" I did not know. And hey, you have just identified yet another hobbyist niche that Radio Shack could explore. Kite flying is still popular. Couple of years ago the GC's were flying and I came up with an idea. Had a couple of old pocket fisherman(Google it) laying around with probably 8 pound test and attached the kites to them and the boys had a blast. Now, those reels are pretty small, but a heavier pound test such as Fire Wire could have been spooled giving them the potential to wrangle larger kites up to the max distance determined by the spool capacity and also by the wind.

Yep, worthy of consideration although at the end of the day I doubt it would catch on and be more popular and profitable than other more main stream hobbies. But, a solution is out there. Just gotta find it.
