As overly prematurely generous as this seems, the simple, hard fact is that an individual's proven expertise and reputation command dollars, all they can get and may well deserve.
Wotton's has had a well positioned ability to assess him and must believe and have convinced the Board. Jooste's resume is certainly impressive.
One has to ask, imo, why would Wotton make a stupid move for such a critical position, i.e., preparing the company for jv and going commercial, the main reason for which he was hired, with someone he truly didn't feel had the capacity to be successful in this position?
