It is interesting and a positive sign in general that gal-3 blockers have efficacy for wide range of maladies. There are other companies with Gal-3 blockers who are currently testing for those other indications though, right?

Your abstract also mentioned modified citrus pectin. Which is a widely available supplement that is supposed to block Gal-3. I wonder how much difference there is in the action of it and these drugs going through trials. I've never seen any discussion of this. Though, so far, GR-MD-02 is administered intravenously and I think you'd need to take a LOT of the supplement pills to try to obtain a similar dose. Then there's the body's ability to absorb through the digestive tract (whether it does or not...or how much).

I pretty strongly believe that there will be efficacy with GR-MD-02. Exactly where it will lead, I don't think anyone can say. My bet is in place, however. It's definitely an exercise in self control and patience but I'm finding that I'm capable of both.
