Everyday when we open our eyes from another night of sleep. We wake with the anticipation of having another full day of life... and...we have some reason of hope that its going to be a good day and at least most things will go our way as far as getting by without much trouble or discouragement. So we get out of the bed and get through our morning ritual of preparing and getting ready for whatever our day is going to involve be it work, school, family or leisure time. And we like to think and believe that its going to be just another normal day...but...we know that is not always the case on this earthly journey we travel. We know that at any moment in time there can be accidents, sickness, problems of all sorts that can walk into our life in the blink of the eye and change our day, week, whatever amount of time from just a pain in the hind end to down right tragic. Yes...as much as we like to think we are in control...that we have a plan...as focused as we like to believe we are. The reality of it all is that we really have no control on what lies around the next corner or over the next hill. That is one of the reasons that a personal relationship with Jesus is so very important. First and foremost...if today is the day that our life might be going to end...we need the blessed assurance that if that is the case...we have a home in heaven. And also to deal with the discouragement, pain, sadness, sickness, tragedy of life...that personal relationship with Jesus is what gives us strength and encouragement and hope to see us through and sustain us in a way that only Jesus can. If you are saved you know what im talking about. If you are unsaved im sorry but you just cant know. So let me ask you this this morning. Do you want to have a personal relationship with your creator who will always be with you to guide and direct your every step...who will comfort and encourage you...who will prepare a home in heaven for you. Do you want to surrender your life to Jesus right here right now? If so...read these words and speak them from your heart like nothing you have ever spoken before...and mean them.....and come to know the blessed assurance of the free gift of salvation and all that goes with being a born-again child of God!......

God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life...I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Please forgive me my sin and come into my life now. From this day forward i will follow You all the days of my life. Amen
