If you are a long-term shareholder, not a flipper...

it is important that you not allow the shares in your account to be made available by your brokerage firm to loan out to shortsellers. The way to do this is by entering a sell order at a price you feel comfortable with that won't get executed before you have a chance to cancel it, or if it did get executed, you would be ok with it. I have my million plus shares for sale at $5, and the order is good until cancelled so I only have to refresh it every 3 months.

It only takes a couple of minutes and costs you nothing but will impede the shortsellers from using your stock to complete their trades.
