looks like you didnt get the idea behind why it didnt help, it was not the gizmo, or whatever you would care to call it, or anything about the gizmo, its the fact that a camera could not see through a tree, go figure. I guess they figured it might help the 1000 officers that were combing the area at ground level, but its pretty clear nothing will see though the trees and its also why he chose to hide there.
