If you're long, what people do right now doesn't matter. Just like if you are a trader, what the stock might do next week doesn't really matter. If I had millions of shares, like quite a few might have, then I would probably unload a small chunk occasionally because each time you do, your risk comes down . . . as long as you can do that and still have a strong position. I can't since I have fewer than a half million shares, but if I had 5 million or more, I might consider doing that. If I had the money, I would buy enough to start doing that now, because by the end of two years, I could have my investment back and still have a million shares . . . which would be worth 2 million dollars. Lots of ways you could work it, if you have the money to start out.
