I like the idea of the social network but am not sold on the approach. The niche marketing aspect is great because there are no sites that specialize in this industry. The whole "Facebook" look is a turn off. The overwhelming amount of options on the site is a turn off. There are no multi-million dollar social networking sites that are similar to its competition. If Mr Shea has a desire to turn this site into something big, there has to be a complete revamp of the current site. People will join and realize that its just another Facebook. I'm sure that every member on the site also has a Facebook account, so what makes this site different? Social networking is an industry that I specialize in and I know that unless there are some strategic changes made to MJ-Xchange, 2000 members may be its peak. I am sure that most of the people who are invested in the stock are also members of the site. What other methods of marketing and retention does he currently have in place to make this site worth while?
