IMCI – Growing with Intention in the Managed IT Services Field

As more and more companies have turned to outsourcing their information technology needs, the Infinite Group, Inc. (“IGI”) has had to adapt to remain relevant in the managed IT services marketplace. In January 2014, IGI declared its commitment to expanding its business exponentially and, so far, it has kept its promise. IGI has approached its expansion efforts with intention, using a two-pronged approach to increase both its business development and product development activities.

Business Development

Over the course of the last three quarters, IGI has focused significant energy on raising its profile in the investment and business communities. To increase its visibility with small-to-medium sized businesses, government agencies and large organizations, the company retained a public relations firm and an investor relations firm in late January 2014. Both firms were tasked with handling IGI’s contact with external stakeholders and potential investors and with increasing its exposure by promoting and dispersing compelling content about the company to the general public.

Service Offerings

This year, IGI has also extended its collection of services to include content management, cyber security and data recovery.

Content Management
To cater to clients repeatedly calling for digital content management support, IGI added the service to its list of offerings. In July 2014, IGI revealed that it had tasked Laila Benarab, one of its new vice president of sales, to lead its content management practice, build its customer base, and cultivate relationships with existing and potential tech partners.

Cyber Security
IGI is also using its established roots in technology to capitalize on the fast-rising cyber security industry. Earlier in the year, IGI chose a well-known cyber security expert, Frank McIntire, to bolster and expand its cyber security division. Mr. McIntire, a former director of IT operations for KPMG and Oracle, was tasked with augmenting the company’s customer list, strengthening relationships with old and new strategic partners, and bringing the best practices in cyber security to IGI.

Data Recovery
In May 2014, IGI partnered with Unitrends, an up-and-comer in IT protection and disaster recovery industry. As a result of this partnership, IGI can now offer Unitrends’ backup, archiving, and disaster recovery technology to its customers and they, in turn, can protect and preserve their physical, virtual, and cloud environments at a low cost.
